When the Advanced Interaction screen is open and you click an interaction (button, entry text, etc.), the selected interaction is highlighted on the storyboard menu. This is an easy way to verify which object’s parameters are being set, when you have more than one interaction on a page.

Cannot select a Menu item in Captivate 2:
After using Captivate 2 for some time, I noticed that the Captivate menu sometimes will flash instead of displaying when you click on any of the menus. I had been saving a closing my project until I got this tip from Walt Stewart. When the menu will only flash and not allow you to make a selection, open the project library and click any of the library objects. The menu will now remain displayed until you select an option or click somewhere else on the screen.

From Paul Dewhurst’s site:
One of the Problems Captivate used to have was that if you used transparent captions then the text in the published movie would look blurred, In captivate 2 you can fix this problem and have nice crisp text all you need to do is select #C0C0C0 as the highlight colour and highlight part of the text (you can select just one character) this makes the text in the published movie display nice and crisp and the highlight is transparent

Adobe’s Silke Fleischer has graciously agreed to give a virtual presentation at our kick-off meeting on April 17th!
From Adobe: “Silke Fleischer is a senior product marketing manager for Adobe Captivate and is responsible for product marketing. She works closely with customers and key figures in the e-learning industry to communicate their needs and ideas to the Adobe Captivate research and development team.”
We are very fortunate to have Silke speak to us. Thanks, Silke!
The presentation topic hasn’t been decided, so if you’d like to hear Silke cover something specific, let us know!

It’s official! The first meeting for the north Texas Captivate User Group will take place on Tuesday, April 17th. We are starting the meeting at 6:30PM and it will wrap up by 8:30PM. Food will be provided along with soft drinks and coffee. We don’t have a topic yet, but it’s coming very soon.
NEC America has graciously agreed to host our meetings. Thank you very much, NEC!
They are lending our group one of the fully-equiped classrooms in their National Training Center. To top it off, their central location (Las Colinas) should be convenient for many Captivate users in the area.
We couldn’t ask for a better meeting location than this!
If you know you’ll be attending, please let us know by posting a message to this announcement!
